Named after James’ former badge number (#504) at the Scottsdale Police Department, 504 Consulting is the culmination of over 32 years experience in public safety, emergency management, and school safety in Arizona.

After a twenty year career in law enforcement, James spent twelve years as the Chief Security Officer for the Scottsdale Unified School District.

His experience in law enforcement and school safety makes him uniquely qualified to help with your emergency preparedness needs.

Professional Experience -

Scottsdale Unified School District (2010 - 2022)

Chief Security Officer

  • Responsible for emergency preparedness and response planning for the District, which consists of approximately 23,000 students within twenty-nine preK-12 schools. Activities include District and school level emergency response planning, staff training and exercises, facility security and assessment, security personnel program management, and emergency response, reunification, and recovery coordination.

City of Scottsdale Police Department (1990 - 2010)

Sergeant

  • Sworn law enforcement officer with supervisory experience in Special Operations (SWAT), School Resource Unit, gang enforcement, training program management, special event planning, K9 Unit, patrol operations, and active shooter response.

Town of Prescott Valley Police Department (1989 - 1990)

  • Sworn law enforcement officer on patrol.
